Actor Prabhakar opens up on TV production: My shows might be successful but I'm not financially successful as a producer

Noted actor and TV producer Prabhakar, who is currently seen in popular shows like

Vadinamma

and Deeparadhana made an interesting confession recently.

In one of the videos shared on the Instagram handle of the channel airing Vadinamma, Prabhakar stated that his shows might be successful but he is not financially successful as a producer. He added that he must ask other TV producers how they are making money. Prabhakar further opined that

TV production

of late has become more challenging as the audience are expecting high standards and quality and more number of actors in a show. Prabhakar also quipped that he must learn from other TV producers how they are saving and making money out of TV shows.


Prabhakar is currently producing the popular show Vadinamma starring Sujitha Dhanush, Priyanka Naidu, Mahi Sivan and others in pivotal roles. Besides production, he is playing the lead role of Raghuram too in the show. The show which deals with the lives of the ideal couple Raguhram-Sita Mahalakshmi and their four brothers is the Telugu remake of successful Tamil show

Pandian Stores

starring Stalin Muthu,

Sujitha Dhanush

and others.

The plot revolves around Raghu Ram, a departmental store owner, his wife Sita Mahalakshmi and four younger brothers. Raghuram’s wife sacrifices her motherhood and treats Raghu Ram’s brothers as her own children. She even seeks a promise from Raghu Ram that he will never reveal the same to his brothers.

Vadinamma secured a place in the club of top 5 TV shows for a while. However, it was shifted to a different time slot due to the launch of many new daily soaps. The show completed a successful run of 500 episodes recently.
