The romantic sports comedy-drama 'Gatta Kusthi' will have its world television premiere on September at 1:30 PM on the occasion of Vinayagar Chaturthi.
The film stars Vishnu Vishal, Kaali Venkat, and Aishwarya Lekshmi in the lead roles. It has an ensemble cast and features actors Karunas, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Sreeja Ravi, Gajaraj, Nikhila Sankar, Hareesh Peradi, Ajay, Shatru, Lizzie Antony, Kalamandalam Mallika, Mathew Varghese, Mippu, Maayi Sundar, and Chella Ayyavu in supporting roles. The film is written and directed by Chella Ayyavu. The music is composed by Justin Prabhakaran. While editing and cinematography are handled by Richard M. Nathan and Prasanna GK.
Speaking about the TV premiere, actor Kaali Venkat said, "This film brings in a unique concept that has not been prominent in the Tamil GEC space. Discussion regarding Gatta Kusthi and premonitions have earlier been mere concepts on paper, but attempting it on screen was challenging and fun at the same time. I am certain that the World Television Premiere of Gatta Kusthi will keep families and children at the edge of their seats and make their Vinayagar Chaturthi worthwhile."
The fictional story is about a Keerthi (Aishwarya Lekshmi), a bold and fearless gatta Kusthi champion in Palakkad, who finds it difficult to get a match for her. Meanwhile, Veera (Vishnu Vishal), a man with no care, is seeking a wife who is timid, not-so-learned, and with long hair, believing that such a woman will remain subservient to him.
Keerthi's dad (Munishkanth) makes an arrangement for the marriage, and the two end up getting married, with Veera unaware that his wife is a Kusthi champ, is more educated than him, and has cropped hair. For how long can Keerthi maintain the charade and what happens when Veera comes to know the truth? It is the rest of the story's plot.
