Meenakshi Ponnunga is one of the most-watched daily soaps on Tamil television. The show, which consistently scores well on the TRP charts, has completed 200 episodes. Meenakshi Ponnunga has always been in the top ten most-watched daily shows on Tamil television. The daily soap is the remake of the Malayalam TV series Santhwanam which was quite popular among the audience.

The TV show Meenakshi Ponnunga premiered in August 2022. The serial stars Archana, Soundarya Reddy, Aryan, and Gayathri Yuvraj in the lead roles and also has an ensemble cast including Pranika Dhakshu, Sasilaya, Anandmouli, Subathira, Prabhakaran, Suganya, Hema Dayal, Aarthi Ramkumar, Singaraja, Deepa Shankar, Thidiyan, Tom Frank, and Sanjay as the supporting cast. The daily soap is written by Haran Prasanna and directed by Muthukumaraswamy. Music is composed by Radhan while cinematography is handled by Arjunan Karthik respectively.
The story is all about a Meenakshi who gives birth to three daughters Yamuna, Shakthi, and Durga. Meenakshi's husband, who desperately wanted a son, decided to marry Pushpa. So Meenakshi runs a mess named "Meenakshi Mess" with the help of her daughters which was a famous mess in the village. Shakthi vows to become an IAS officer to take revenge on her father.
