Nirosha hosts cricket tournament for TV and film actors

Actress Nirosha Radha, who owns a film & TV product company, hosted a mega cricketing event on Saturday in Chennai. The tennis ball tournament, called Media Cricket Championship, saw teams of television and movie celebrities participate in a good game of cricket. Makapa Anand, Siddharth, Aryan, Azhar and Kishore of Goli Soda fame were among those who led the star-studded teams.
A source says, “The game happened in a 10-over format between six teams - Chennai Super Starts, Sun Super Heroes, Beast Slayers, Silk Smitha, Master Blasters, and White Walkers. Makapa-led Silk Smitha team clashed with Azhar-led Super Heroes team as the match proceeded towards the finals. The 90-minute action ended with the latter winning the match by 14 runs, bagging the cup, and a cash prize of ₹1.5 Lakh. Ajay was adjudged the ‘Man of the match’ and received a cycle, Sujith was declared the ‘Man of the series’ and was awarded a refrigerator.”
The source adds, “Nirosha launched this tournament as an initiative to celebrate the love and passion that people from the industry share for the sport. Soaring temperatures and the blinding summer sun posed no hindrance to the edge-of-the-seat cricketing action that the media industry came together to celebrate as one.
