Actor and anchor Rakshan, widely recognized for his energetic hosting in the hit reality show Cooku With Comali, is set to surprise fans with his latest role on the silver screen. The multi-talented television personality has bagged an important role in none other than superstar Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated film Vettaiyan.

Rakshan's entry into mainstream cinema has been steadily progressing. While many know him for his charming presence on TV as a host of shows like Kalakka Povathu Yaaru?, he made his acting debut in the 2020 film Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal alongside Dulquer Salmaan. Now, his appearance in Vettaiyan cements his place as one of the most promising talents in the Tamil film industry.

Vettaiyan is a Tamil action drama directed by T.J. Gnanavel and is highly anticipated by fans of Rajinikanth. The film marks Rajinikanth's 170th lead role, featuring an ensemble cast including legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rohini, and Rakshan.

The movie's principal photography began in October 2023 under the working title ‘Thalaivar 170,’ with the official title Vettaiyan revealed in December of the same year. Filming took place across various locations like Thiruvananthapuram, Tirunelveli, Chennai, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander, with cinematography by S. R. Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj.
