’s new historical drama series Chandhra Nandhini will be aired at 7.30 pm onwards, instead of 6 pm, as said earlier. The
serial
is based on the life of the King Chandhragupta Maurya and his wife Nandhini.
During Chandragupta’s time Mahapadma’s son Dhana Nanda ruled Patliaputra. According to the serial, Nandhini is the daughter of Dhana Nanda though in reality Chandragupta’s wife Durdhara is believed to be the daughter of his maternal uncle. It is believed that Chandragupta Maurya killed Dhana Nanda to acquire his kingdom with the help of Chanakya. Though it is highly debatable, some people believe he even married Dhana Nanda’s daughter.
Nandhini in the serial is no ordinary princess. She, in fact, is a warrior princess who grows up learning war tactics right from her childhood. However, things take a drastic turn when Chandragupta comes and dethrones her father from the throne.
Shweta Basu Prasad plays the role of the warrior princess and
Rajat Tokas plays Chandhragupta Maurya. The serial is produced by Ekta kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms and Directed by Ranjan Kumar Singh and will be aired from October 31.
