Allegations, denials and legal threats fuel drama in CWC controversy
Police complaint over alleged assault on CWC set triggers war of words between Diwakar, Ma Ka Pa, Pugazh and Gaana Vinoth.
Diwakar behaved inappropriately on the set of CWC’Hosts MaKaPa Anand, Pugazh and Vinoth on Tuesday refuted allegations made against them by influencer Diwakar, after appearing before the police for an inquiry related to the controversy surrounding the show Cook With Comali . The trio said the accusations were baseless and claimed that Diwakar had been removed from the show due to his conduct on set. “Diwakar behaved inappropriately, made obscene gestures towards women and used casteist remarks. Complaints were raised to the channel, following which he was removed from the show,” they said, adding that he was now making “false allegations out of jealousy.”What happened?Diwakar, known as the “Watermelon Star”, filed a police complaint on April 10 alleging he was assaulted by fellow participants MaKaPa Anand, Pugazh and Gaana Vinoth during the shoot of Cooku With Comali . He claimed MaKaPa attacked him with an iron rod, injuring his leg, and accused Pugazh of instigating the incident and that Gaana Vinod used derogatory language and issued death threats.Trio warns of legal actionRefuting claims that he had been inebriated on set, MaKaPa asked, “I work nearly 18 hours a day. Is it possible to function like that under the influence of alcohol?” The trio also stated that they have proof to back their claims and will take the “necessary legal steps.”
