Actress Devayani’s father passes away

Actress Devayani’s father Jaydev Betarpet passed away early this morning in Chennai. He was 73 years old. His body has been kept at their home T Nagar and the cremation is expected to happen this afternoon at the Nesapakkam Crematorium. Devayani shot to fame after acting with some of the lead actors in the industry like Ajith and Vijay. After she married director Rajkumaran without the consent of her parents, Devayani was not on talking terms with her father. The duo worked together in Nee Varuvai Ena, which starred Parthiban as the male lead.
In the meantime, she took to serials and acted in the Sun TV series Kolangal and Muthaaram. But, things fell into place recently. The actress is currently judging a popular reality show on Mazhavil Manorama titled Ugram Ujavalam. Devayani’s brother Nakkhul is a popular actor, too.
