A comedy show with a difference
Watch out for ICU, a new television sketch comedy show. And just to clear things out, this will not be a Grey’s Anatomy.
At a time when web series are becoming popular, this series will be different for the Tamil audience. Venkatesh says, “We were fortunate enough to have started the web series trend in South India with Ctrl+Alt+Del. We have more in the pipeline on that front as well. But working on a television show is interesting as the audiences are different.”
Considering serials are a big hit in Tamil Nadu, is the audience ready for a change? “When we started, we didn’t have an audience base to reach out to. It had to be cultivated right from the scratch. We expect that it will be a similar journey with the TV show as well because we are going to show them new forms of comedy. Regardless of the medium, if what we are showcasing is interesting, the audiences will always be happy to receive it. They are willing to change and adapt to any medium as long as they are entertained. So, we don’t see any reason why web series or TV series can’t succeed,” says Venkatesh.
