Sambhaji
Bhosale, the Maratha ruler.
The show has an important character of ‘Yesubai’ which is essayed by actress
Prajakta
Gaikwad. Yesubai was a warrior queen of the Maratha kingdom. So Prajakta trained in horse riding and fencing to portray the warrior queen.
Prajakta was given a proper training of horse riding for 15 days prior to the shoot. Right after her look test Prajakta trained in fencing for 8 days in Pune.
While talking about her new learning experience, Prajakta said, “As everyone knows that Yesubai was an expert in horse riding and fencing. So portraying her skills on the small screen was a big responsibility on my shoulder.”
She added, “I was very afraid of animals and my entry in the show was riding on a horse. On the first day of my training, I was afraid to touch the horses as they were very tall. However, I learned horse-riding gradually.”
While talking about fencing, Prajakta said, “I slowly learned the expressions and the body language of Yesubai while training in fencing. During the training session, I got injured as well but the entire unit helped me throughout.”
