Marathi actor
Shashank Ketkar recently revealed that he has been celebrating
Diwali sans
crackers for quite a few
years
now. An ardent animal lover Shashank goes on to add, "I stopped bursting crackers since 1994. It is sad that festivals are facing the brunt of commercialisation. Bursting crackers means increasing noise and air pollution and littering the roads. It is better we tying paper latterns and change our outlook towards environment."
Shashank is currently seen in a Marathi television show, 'He Mann Baware'. He is opposite Mrunal Dusanis, who also believes in celebrating
Diwali with family and closed ones without harming the environment.
