The country is celebrating Republic Day with full enthusiasm.

Marathi actor Mandar Jadhav

took a walk down the

memory lane

and shared his memories from

college days

.

He says, "As Republic Day arrives, I start cherishing my college days. I am a D.G. Ruparel College student. I was in NCC when I was in college. Therefore, I have been training for NCC for 3 years in a row. On January 26, we used to have a

special parade

. Our team was called Maharashtra Battalion," said Mandar.

He further said, "We used to start preparing for the January 26 parade two months in advance. Getting up early in the morning to practice was a daily exercise. At that time, we were 150 students. Coherence in arm-leg movements is essential for the parade. We used to have a notable tendency towards this. We used to indulge in this practice forgetting our hunger and thirst. After a lifetime of hard work, Republic Day used to bring new consciousness. We used to be given rifles on Republic Day. I was full of pride as I saluted the national flag with the NCC uniform and rifle in hand. Those days in college were overwhelming. This training helped me in my acting field. This is especially useful when doing fight scenes in the show."

Mandar Jadhav
