KTG: From opening up about her strange habits to revealing how she became stronger in life, interesting revelations made by veteran actress Vandana Gupte

Marathi senior actress Vandana Gupte recently appeared on the show Khupte Tithe Gupte as a special guest. The actress made various revelations on the show about her personal and professional life. She also revealed her favorite actors and spoke about why she likes her performances more than Mukta Barve's in the play Char Chaughi.

Vandana revealed that her family was very happy when she told them about her and Shirish's relationship. She said, "I had told my sister Bharti that I am in love with Shirish Gupte. I want to marry him. My father told me yes; he would decide after meeting him. He met my husband, and everyone liked him. Recently, we have completed 50 years of marriage."

Vandana shared a funny incident with Avadhoot on the show and said that she had picked up a mango on the stage when her play was going on. She said, "There was a mango tree behind our play stage. When we went on stage, a branch of the tree was above us. Suddenly, a mango dropped from the tree and fell on the stage. I decided to pick it up because I knew if I did not pick it up, Nivedita Saraf would. In the middle of the play, I said, One minute, and took the mango and kept it with me. Our director got so angry and called me unprofessional. Later, he sat with us and ate the same mango. (She quips)."

The senior actress revealed that she does a lot of shopping and that her family sometimes asks her not to do so. She said, "I do a lot of shopping. My family members fight and argue with me when they see my shopping bags. If I like it, then I buy it. No matter what it is, I have even bought houses without telling anyone and then surprised my husband."

Vandana was surprised to see her husband Shirish Gupte's video message on the show, in which he complained that Vandana is never on time. Responding to the video message, Vandana said, "Shirish is very punctual, and he has patience. He is an advocate, so he has to. I am also not always on time, I admit."

Avadhoot asked Vandana about her favorite actors, and she said, "I like the performance and acting of Mohan Joshi. I love how he is present on-screen. When asked about her favorite director, the actress said, "Chandrakant Kulkarni is my favorite director. He is a true director by heart."

Vandana was a part of the popular play Char Chaughi in her golden era. Now actress Mukta Barve is essaying her role in Char Chaughi. When asked which performance she liked the most in the play, Vandana said, "I liked my performance obviously. I am not saying I did not like how Mukta was playing the role. But the character needs body language along with vocal knowledge. It has a monologue in the character, and I feel it needs more patience and stability while delivering the dialogues."

Avadhoot asked Vandana how she became stronger in life and what made her tough to make decisions. Vandana said, "I had to balance both my career and family when I was working earlier. I am still working, but those were different. I had to balance my work with my personal life. That's how I became stronger and tougher."
