From recalling fond memories with politician Balasaheb Thackeray to opening up about wife Sharmila's accident, revelations made by Raj Thackeray in Khupte Tithe Gupte

Politician Raj Thackeray recently graced the TV show Khupte Tithe Gupte and surprised everyone by making various revelations about his political and personal life. Raj also spoke about his wife Sharmila Thackeray, cousin and former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, his unknown side, nepotism in politics and more.

I think if a person is capable of handling public issues, it does not matter whether he or she is the son or daughter of any big politician. Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj came after Shivaji Maharaj and we all know what sacrifices he faced and the struggles he faced so we can't call it nepotism. It is everything about how a person manages the system and work.

Raj questioned former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray and asked how he did not understand that people from his party are disappointed. Raj said, "I don't understand one thing, we have intelligence and a CM gets to know everything from the sources about what is happening in his governance but how could Uddhav not get anything? How did he not get any idea about anything? It's a shocking thing as a leader."

Talking about what he felt when Uddhav resigned as Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Raj said, "As a brother, I felt bad when he had to leave his chair when the Maharashtra crisis happened but he should have kept his eyes on his people. He should have been alert. If your MLAs are leaving you then you are not alert and smart enough."

Raj said that he loves to serve a variety of food to people. He said, "My cook Rajendra has been working with me for the last many years. Whenever guests come to my house, if there are 10 guests, I ask the chef to cook for 50 people. I have a weird habit. I want everyone to eat food and be happy."

Talking about his wife, Raj said, "Sharmila does not know anything about politics but whenever highs and lows came into my life, she understood me very well. Her background was very different and adapting to the political environment along with me was a challenge for her. Also, handling a person like me is the biggest thing."

Raj said, "My dog Bond had bitten Sharmila. He was sleeping and she kissed him and he bit her. It was a horrific scenario. Her cheekbone was cut and her lips got cut into six pieces. I was in the middle of the press conference. We immediately did her stitches and plastic surgery. But, she has a lot of love for animals. She came from the hospital, kissed Bond and then went to her room."

I remember an incident of Balasaheb. It was a time when he had no securities, nothing else. We were going somewhere and our car driver was absent that day so we called a taxi. That time, Sudhir Joshi was a mayor and he told Balasaheb if you do not have a car, I will drop you but Balasaheb replied saying, 'Keep your red light car with yourself, I am okay with my taxi'. We later sat in the taxi and we saw from the back glass that the mayor's car was following our taxi. This is also the reason that I don't have any interest in any CM's position because I have seen red-light cars following our cars since childhood."
