Exclusive: We are sanitising ourselves before and after shooting romantic scenes, says Raja Ranichi Ga Jodi fame Shivani Sonar

Popular Marathi TV daily soap Raja Ranichi G Jodi's shoot resumed recently and actress Shivani Sonar, who is playing the role of Sanjeevani (Sanju), also returned to the sets.
In an exclusive chat with Etimes TV, The lead actress of the series Shivani shared her experience of shooting after lockdown and coping up with the 'New Normal'. The actress also shared tricks the directors are using while shooting romantic scenes with Maniraj Pawar aka Ranjit.
Shivani said shooting with restrictions is challenging and talking about the same, she said, "There are many changes that are taking place on the set. Earlier, the numbers of cast and crew members were more and we used to shoot in crowded areas and restrictions were not there but now the entire scenario is different. We have a challenge of shooting under restrictions. At the beginning, I was really scared but after a few days of the shoot, I felt normal. I was worried about what will happen on the set, how we are going to rehearse, how we are going to do romantic scenes but as days are passing we are getting used to it.

Talking about shooting romantic scenes with co-star Maniraj aka Ranjit following social distancing, Shivani said, "We don't even have close shot scenes now and we are doing everything by planning. We are sanitizing ourselves and hands before and after giving romantic scenes. The makers are also trying to shoot with different angles to make us look closer onscreen. Taking each and every precaution because we can't shoot wearing masks and gloves. Also, we are doing everything keeping in mind that our chemistry does not get affected onscreen. We are really curious about the future episodes how the scenes are going to be but yes it's difficult and challenging for us now."
Shivani and Maniraj are excited to shoot together after 3 months of the lockdown. Sharing her excitement, Shivani said, "We both were too excited to work together because we didn't even talk during the lockdown, no messages or calls, nothing. I used to travel from Mumbai to Pune but Maniraj is staying away from his family since last 8 months because his family stays in Aurangabad. I feel really sad for him."

Being a professional makeup artist, Shivani still feels it is challenging to do the makeup for camera, she said, "I am a professional makeup artist but I do bridal makeup looks and it is completely different from the camera makeup. I don't know how to do make up for the camera but I am trying to do it using my own makeup techniques. Also, the makeup artist is there on the set so if I did something wrong, I ask him whether I have done correctly or not then he guides me and that's how we are managing everything."
When asked what did she miss the most besides shooting during the lockdown, she said, "During the shutdown of shoots, I missed the style of my onscreen character Sanju. I got appreciation from everyone for the way I make that tongue clicking sound when I am happy. I got tons of messages and calls from everyone saying how I do it. My style is even more popular among children, so I am happy. Even in the first fresh episode, I have done it and I am sure it;s going to entertain the audience after 3 months."
