Exclusive: I might be an old-school person but want my work to speak rather than my social media activities: Sachin Khedekar

One of the most popular reality TV shows Kon Honaar Crorepati is all set to be back with its new season and senior actor Sachin Khedekar will be seen hosting the show once again with much enthusiasm. Sachin, who has been hosting the show for the past years, spoke exclusively to ETimes TV and spoke about hosting the new season of KHC, his experience from the last few years, inviting celebs on the show, his work in the industry and why he is not on social media.

- Interview by Vaishnavi Gavankar

Sachin's outfits of Kon Honaar Crorepati

Sachin's suits on the show KHC are one of the talked about topics and asked about what new outfits he is going to wear this season, he said, "Our designer always focuses on my suits and outfits. The show is an adaptation of Kaun Banega Crorepati and to match the level and class of the show, I have to wear some nice and luxurious clothes. Also, my designer Sandesh always asks me to try something new or invent something new in my attire. So yes I am also getting the courage to wear the same."

Sachin's experience with contestants in KHC

When asked about his talent for making celebs open up about their lives, Sachin said that he keeps all his personal issues aside and only focuses on his work. He said, "As an actor, I love to meet contestants and feel their emotions on the 'hot seat' and that's my way of collecting energy. I understand their emotions and try to make them a part of my life. I like to feel the emotions of contestants no matter who is there on the 'hot seat', like a spider making webs and try to help them open up about their lives."

Sachin revealed why he is not on social media

Sachin further revealed why he is not on social media and said, "I am scared of trolling and social media has become a weapon now to change the lives of people. I think I want my work to speak more than social media activities. Also, I feel we must keep our personal lives very personal. I do the same. I don't like to do the public display of my emotions and feelings. There is a different feeling in keeping your personal life personal. I may be an old-school person but I like to live like it."

Sachin's work in the industry for the last 35 years

Sachin later spoke about his work in the industry for the last 35 years and how he managed to entertain viewers without any promotion. He said, "I focus on my work. I do not let my personal life affect my professional life. Also, I think, people should not focus on only themselves and learn to look outside. I try to read people and try to meet people and learn about their experiences. This helps an actor achieve peace and experience in life. This practice I have been following for the last 35 years."

Sad reality of today's actors

Sachin later spoke about today's actors and how they do not get work for having fewer followers on social media. He said, "Yes, I have been hearing this for quite some time now that an actor did not get work for having a few followers. I feel very sad for them. This should not happen. If this is the case in the future then I think I am somewhere behind them but I will try."
