Playing Vaijayanti

Talking about her role and character, Hemangi said, "I am playing Durga's mother Vaijayanti. She isn't like any other mom. Vaijayanti is Durga's backbone and she is ready to fight for the latter. She protects Durga when someone tries to demean her. The writers of the show have really worked hard to portray such a mother on-screen. Vaiju is strong and courageous. Nothing can stop her. Only Vaiju and her family know that who is Durga. Vaijayanti is scared of how people might react if they learn about Durga's secret. She never allows her daughter to even go outside. I think there is a challenge to play such a role."
