In the recent episode of Chala Hawa Yeu Dya, Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal graced the show. Interestingly, Vicky spoke in fluent Marathi throughout the episode and surprised everyone. In the show, Vicky also spoke about his favorite Maharashtrian food and how he spent his childhood, his tough phase in life, and more.

​Vicky Kaushal loves Malvani food

In the show, Vicky revealed that he loves Maharashtrian food and especially he has pure love for Malvani dishes. Vicky said, "People often order Mexican and Italian in the restaurants whenever they shoot outside Mumbai but I order Malvani food. Bhai Malvani Khana Khao aur sab bhul jao. I love Malvani food the most."

​Grew up with Marathi culture

When host Nilesh asked Vicky how his Marathi is so fluent, he said, "I am born and brought up in Maharashtra and that is why I feel more connected and rooted here. Also, my childhood friends and school friends all are Maharashtrians. So, my Marathi is very fluent and I am really proud of it. My mom and dad are from Punjab but I have more connections with Maharashtra.”

Love for Bhakarwadi and Thecha

When asked about his favourite Maharashtrian chatpata snack, Vicky said that he has special love for the Maharashtrian snack Bhakarwadi. He also said that he loves eating the spicy 'Thecha' (spicy condiment) with his meals. He said, "I have immense love for Bhakarwadi and also Thecha that we eat in Maharashtra alongside meals. It is love. Mera Jaan hai uspe.”

​Tough phase of life

Vicky also spoke about the struggle period of his life in the show. He said people were not ready to give him work for various reasons, but his mother supported him. He said, "There was a time when people were not giving me work. They were not ready to cast me in their projects. I don't know why. I used to go home after my failed auditions and tell my mother, ‘I can see my dream going away, I don't know what and why is happening to me’. But my mother motivated saying, ‘Tu ye mat sochna ki kyu aur kaise ye sab ho raha hai tu bass hoga sab theek ye yakeen rakhna’. Her words melted my heart and I decided to be positive after that.”

​His favorite actors

Vicky said that he is a fan of superstar Govinda and veteran star Ashok Saraf. Vicky said, "I am a fan of Ashok Saraf sir. Also, I love his dancing. There is something about his dance that makes him special. Also in Bollywood I like Govinda sir."
