Omung Kumar REVEALS he gets IRRITATED watching UNTIDY Hindi BB house; 'Marathi contestants care about cleanliness'- Exclusive

Designing the Bigg Boss house is never just about walls, furniture, or colors; it’s about psychology, drama, and storytelling. For Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6, which is set to go on air on Jan 11, 2025, celebrated production designer Omung Kumar Bhandula has designed an extremely mesmerizing house that literally casts a spell.The celebrity designer, filmmaker, and director once again has pushed creative boundaries, transforming the house into a living, breathing character in itself. When asked about the duration his team took to build such a huge, detailed house, he shared, "While full transformation usually takes a longer time, Omung and his team managed to pull off this massive overhaul in barely 45 days, and the work is still evolving. Even now, I’m still changing things,” Omung admits.“A wall here, a gym wall there; the work is still going on, we are yet to install the nameplate area, and the switch will be put at the end.” He also credited the technology that has helped him in designing this house: "Thanks to technology and AI-driven planning, AI made the process faster, more fluid, and creatively exhilarating," he expressed his gratitude.Also See: Bigg Boss Marathi 6 Confirmed list with Photo of contestants of Riteish Deshmukh’s showOn being asked what the theme of the house is and what briefing he received before planning and designing the house, he said, "The core idea revolves around doors and windows, symbols of choice, mystery, and transformation. The theme this season is of doors and windows, lock and key. There are 900 doors and 800 windows in the house, as you can see. Every door can open into a different world, a bedroom, a bathroom, or a confession room; you never know," he explains.Drawing parallels to Alice in Wonderland, Omung designed doors of varying sizes, locks with wings, hidden keys, and windows that may or may not open, which are not common to one another. “There’s surprise everywhere. Some doors are dummy for now, but Bigg Boss will decide when they open.”"The house, if you see it from outside, is filled with visual clutter, but intentional clutter. But if you sit in the house and notice, you will feel the goodness and detailed artwork. We have designed accordingly that every frame should give peace of mind,” he expressed.Being a filmmaker adds to his profile. The garden has crooked doors and windows leading to a central treehouse, perfect for gossip zones and secret conversations. There’s even a tiny, almost hidden room, created by closing a former gutter space, just big enough for a chair. “If there’s a lover or someone having an affair, they’ll go there,” he laughs. “That will be content.”A bunk bed has been introduced this season, which will surely attract drama. Talking about it, he said, "The bunk beds are used for the first time and are designed with conflict in mind. There will be fights there. You’ll get content from that.”Omung is very possessive about the house and its cleanliness; he never lets the house go unnoticed. He revealed, "I am a cleanliness freak; I need my house to be kept clean, which usually I don't see in the Hindi version of Bigg Boss, but cleanliness is a big factor, especially considering Marathi contestants. “They really care about cleanliness, and I appreciate that,” Omung says, admitting he gets irritated watching untidy houses on TV. It happened mostly in Hindi Bigg Boss; the contestants just damage things, which I don't like."Sharing about other details that he kept in mind while designing the house, he added, "While designing the house, storage for 100 days, practical bathroom layouts, and usable kitchen spaces are carefully planned. One bathroom, designed like a boiler room with pipes, brass elements, and green tones, stands out for its industrial aesthetic."Omung gave away some more details about the house. He said, "Gold dominates this season in the house, not for extravagance, but for visual clarity on camera. Four days ago, everything was light beige. It looked bad. So we made it gold.”"Old furniture was reused, reupholstered, and reprinted to save costs while elevating aesthetics. This is how we work; you give a useless thing to a designer, and the fun begins of making it shine.”Despite handing over the set once ready, Omung remains deeply attached. “Once the show starts, everyone says the set is Bigg Boss’. But for me, it’s mine. I make calls every night to make sure the set is in a good position. Broken chairs, damaged corners—nothing escapes my notice. I am very possessive about the house and its property; I just call the in-house people and make them clean up everything, whatever mess they have made. I remember once even Salman Khan came in the house to clean the mess; it was so bad. He warned all the contestants, “Clean the place right now, or you will not get even the basic amenities that you use here in the house.”Ultimately, Omung Kumar Bhandula’s Bigg Boss Marathi 6 house isn’t just a backdrop; it’s a provocateur.
