Bigg Boss Marathi 6: Satish Rajwade OPENS up on former players entering the BB house; 'The game will demand its players.'

Actor, director, and writer Satish Rajwade, who is the vice president of the Marathi cluster, Jio Star, is extremely excited for the upcoming season, so much so that he is also willing to be part of the show. Satish, in an exclusive conversation with ETimes, spoke about the house, the set, the contestants, and the strategies that will make the game look appealing. Excerpts:

This is the first time that you are associated with the Bigg Boss house. How much excitement is there?

I am a big fan of this show. And the way this house is built, it is amazing. The artists that we will get to see and the contestants that we will get to see, I am very excited.




This year, as you said, you have reached the peak. What exactly is it? What is different every day? What have you planned differently? Every year, different tasks are repeated. Is it going to be like this this year? Are all the tasks different?

Yes, there is a format. Like our show's tagline, the door will open and the fate game will start. What are the tasks? What is different this year compared to last year? We will find out later. But one thing is for sure: 500 windows, 900 doors. With so many doors, the possibilities are increasing. So this game can be played in any direction. We have made it so easy. And as Bhau (Riteish Deshmukh) said, every action has an equal reaction. The way people are going to move and act, we will get reactions like that. And the game will continue.

How do you look at the way tasks are planned every season?

I feel that every year, the way we see it, the way the action happens, and the way the reaction happens, I feel that this team, the way people are acting and the way they do things, will have to create tasks accordingly. And they haven't decided anything before. I don't have this information that there will be something different. I only have this information that every action will have an equal reaction.



So you are not creatively involved in scripting the games?

Even if I am creatively involved, I won't be able to tell you.

Can you explain what makes this house different?

See, I will tell you what. Like I said earlier, every door has a possibility. And that possibility can be positive or negative or thrilling. So after so many doors, every day you will get a surprise, or what you didn't expect. What is Bigg Boss's house? What you didn't expect will be there in the house. In my opinion, Bigg Boss has such a reputation that if you go ahead of him, if last season was different, it kept you stuck in such a big circle; this year it will keep you stuck in so many doors and windows.

Any inspiration from Squid Game?

We don't get any inspiration from anywhere. Not at all.

Everywhere in the Garden area you see leopards. Why is that?

In my opinion, he must have given a look and feel to the art director. Because you see bats in this area, because I think he must have given a theme that there are doors, there are windows, there are faces, there are closed eyes, and there are Bigg Boss' eyes. So behind everything, there must be an element. There must be a reason. Everything in this house—there is no reason; there is a big reason behind everything.

When a season is planned, under what criteria are the choices of the contestants made?

There is a way of casting. Bigg Boss is such a property that it demands its own casting. You have to see that kind of person in Bigg Boss. There are 6 seasons in Marathi and several seasons in other languages. So this game has a format. We plan a team, like how when we make a cricket team, we choose a good batsman, a bowler, a fielder, and an umpire. Similarly, the Bigg Boss house also demands a team. So every game has DNA. Every game needs a team formation. I feel the game demands that kind of person: celebrities, influencers, and celebrities with nostalgia. But every person comes to this house with their own things. I feel the demand of this house decides who will stay in the house.

Is the DNA of this house in you?

Until I come to this house, I won't know. Because it is easy to judge from outside. But this house, sometimes I feel you have to play this house. So all these 17, 18, 19, 20, and 22 people, so many people, they play with the house; it is a big player. You play with this house.

Will it increase beyond 100 days?

We were asked this question: "Kami nahi na padnar?" (Won't it fall short?), and we told them that it won't decrease at all. Talking about increasing the season beyond 100 days, we haven't decided yet.

This season, do you have any determination to make it better? Do you feel the pressure post the popularity of BB Marathi 5?

Everyone has a determination to move forward in life. We go from 1st to 2nd, from 10th to 12th, MBA, and job determination. It is a part of growing. If there is no determination, I think we stop growing. Until I want to do better than yesterday, I need that pressure. I have to be better. I have to do better than what I did yesterday. So there has to be determination. And there is a lot. Because we have to give more attention to the audience than last season.

Will former players enter the show?

As I told you, as the game progresses, the game will demand it. We can't say who will come. The game will demand its players.
