The director of the show Santosh Ayachit said, "I came across the saint Balumama's life story, and I decided to narrate his story to the TV audience. Through this journey, I have observed that if you offer a different story to the audience, they accept it wholeheartedly and my aim is to deliver the same till the end.”
Actor Sumeet Pusavale said, "I always say it's a responsibility to play Balumama onscreen. People give me so much love on my social media account through their comments and wishes. I feel so blessed. I have lost 14 kgs for Balumama's character. I have done a lot of research on real-life Balumama. I have gone through his films and books. Balumama's personality is so true and holy so I had to do all the stuff.”
For the unversed, Balumama Maharaj is believed to be a self-proclaimed incarnation of Lord Shiva by many and his teachings concentrated on the moral code of love, forgiveness and helping others.
