Ashwini faces rude behaviour
Recently, actor Ashwini Ekbote got a firsthand experience of how egoistic and insensitive some men can be towards women.
Having made last-minute plans to travel to Pune from Mumbai and due to unavailability of her private vehicle, Ashwini decided to use the public transport. At Dadar, she booked the last vacant seat in a shared taxi offered to her by an agent. As the other three seats were occupied by men, and Ashwini was the lone woman travelling with them, the agent requested the man sitting on the front seat (next to the driver) to exchange his seat with the actress.
But to everyone’s surprise the man instantly refused and replied insensitively, saying that he had paid for that seat and he won't sit on the rear seat of the vehicle. Soon, conversation turned into an argument, and the same man went on to add quite sarcastically that having women in the family, he knew how to respect women.
Commenting on the incident, Ashwini said, "I have no prejudices against men and their behaviour towards women. Also, I was willing to sit in the rear seat when I booked the taxi. But the demeaning manner in which that man spoke, hurt me and reflected the egoistic attitude some men have towards women."
On work front, we recently witnessed Ashwini play actor Prarthana Behere's adorable mother in the latest Marathi hit film 'Coffee Ani Barach Kahi' directed by Prakash Kunte.
