Popular Marathi TV actress
Apurva Nemlekar
has quit the show
Ratris Khel Chale
. The actress shocked her fans and viewers by penning a lengthy note on social media making allegations against the makers of the show and TV channel.
Apurva has revealed in the post that the channel did not clear her payment dues and further accused a few co-stars of bullying her on the sets.
Apurva wrote in the post, "Shevanta" .. just the names is enough, but sometimes it is not enough. As an actress, I had a lot of fun and satisfaction playing this role. In fact, playing the role "Shevanta" was easy for me, as if I was a Shevanta, a consciousness that I have lived to this day. The novelty between the roles, the various aspects of the persona line, the different shades made "Shevanta" immortal in the audience. The role of
Shevanta
gave me a lot. While all this is going well, we all have the same curiosity in our minds, why did I leave the role of "Shevanta"? What has happened that made me to make this unfavorable decision? People asked me on my social media about it so it's my personal responsibility to answer them, and it is my duty to explain this".
Apurva further added that she gained 10kg weight for the role of Shevanta, but after getting into a new role, her co-artists on the set mocked her. She explained, "I had gained 10 kg for the role of Shevanta. I used to face some negative comments after gaining weight. But now, while working on the set, some newcomers and some senior artists have mocked me for no reason. Apparently, I was mocked. Some of their comments were deliberately repeated in such a way that I felt so bad. Even after the seniors took action, the concerned newcomers did not even express a simple apology"
Apurva further said that traveling for the show was also becoming difficult for her. She said, "As you know RKC shooting is going on in
Sawantwadi
. I was traveling by train from Mumbai for 12 hours. When I was called to shoot, I was only shooting for one day and then for 3-4 days nothing was being shot. It only took 6 to 7 working days in a month. And for that, I had to travel frequently. I was wasting my precious time for a whole month"
Apurva also lashed out at the channel and the production house for not giving her payment cheques. Apurva said, "The production house told me that it would take us 5 to 6 days for the third season, so when I refused, the channel promised to give me another show. But after 5 to 6 months, that promise has not been kept. This is causing me financial loss! The same thing happened last year during show 'Tujh Maaz Jamtay'. I have not received the last check of the series, and they promised me that no money would be lost, but that promise too was not kept. I have not received the check yet. And even after that I worked very honestly with the channel (sic)"
Apurva further cited 'offensive behaviour' from a 'new artist' at workplace also led to her exit.
She added, "If I am not getting paid for my hard work, I am not interested to work in a place where my honest hard work, contempt, and offensive behavior from a new artist is taking place..so I decided not to stay in this show. Against this backdrop, I had to get out of my closet. Unfortunately, this is my personal decision. Life doesn't stop here, some more new roles, I will keep doing. I hope that you will shower your love like this forever. This is my only inspiration."
