Vivek Gopan’s safety awareness series wins attention
To create awareness about the mistakes we unintentionally make while venturing out during the age of social distancing, which can have dire consequences, a group of youngsters have come up with a series featuring renowned TV actor Vivek Gopan.
The awareness series, titled ‘Safety Starts With Me,’ has a total of four episodes, the first of which was released on June 7. The team releases new episodes every Fridays and the first episode has already gone on to win more than one lakh views.
The series, which has Dr Anjaan Prakash as the creative director and Sooraj Dev as the co-director, is streamed through 20 different social media pages on varied platforms. Nikhil Sivamani has written the series, which has Sangeeth Lala on camera and Nikhil San doing the music.
While sharing the video via his page a few days ago, Vivek Gopan captioned it, ‘Let’s have open-minded conversations and avoid open-faced talks. The first episode shows a man walking into a mobile shop, the shop keeper offering him hand sanitiser and then the duo lowering their masks to have a conversation. Vivek Gopan comments on the same in the video, saying ‘It’s a natural trait of Malayalis to speak openly. But now, its time to mask a few things. The second episode, captioned ‘Common sense is more important than speed,’ the team shows how people are in a hurry in public places to get things done, without giving enough attention to the aspect of physical distancing, followed by Vivek’s comment on why its important we prioritise the distancing now more than our urge to be in haste.
