Star Singer: Surya Narayanan leaves everyone floored with 'Amme Amme', grabs the second golden star in a row

Star Singer contestant Surya Narayanan is leaving no stone unturned to impress music lovers, and his latest performance proves the same. In the recent free-hit round, Surya sang the all-time favourite Amme Amme, originally rendered by Madhu Balakrishnan, and left everyone stunned with his soulful rendition.


In the recent episode, Surya kickstarted the competition with the song that won singer Madhu Balakrishnan the Kerala State Film Award. Undoubtedly, he nailed it with his rendition. From the improvisations to the aalaps, he left everyone stunned. Soon after the performance, judge K. S. Chithra rang the buzzer, announcing it as a golden star performance.


"Sweet kisses to Madhu Balakrishnan for this song. Even today, everyone loves to watch him sing this song live at stage shows. Surya, you have sung it well. I loved the aalap and the improvisations. An impressive performance," said K. S. Chithra.


"What a performance! You gave a strong reply to all those who thought you might miss the lyrics in a song filled with tough lines," said judge and singer Vidhu Prathap.




Singer Sithara Krishnakumar said she was holding her heart in her hands when Surya entered the stage with the song.





For the unversed, Surya faced backlash in the previous round after missing a few lines during one of his performances. However, he made a smashing comeback by scoring 100 marks in the One-on-One round with Vaishakan. Notably, this marks Surya's second consecutive golden star.




Star Singer continues to win hearts with the stunning performances of its contestants. The show currently has eight contestants competing for the grand prize of Rs 50 lakh. Hosted by Varsha and Mithun Ramesh, the show features K. S. Chithra, Vidhu Prathap, and Sithara Krishnakumar as judges.
