Star Singer: Shivapriya stuns with 'Kusumavadana'; Sithara says, 'You have got everything a playback singer needs'
Star Singer contestant Shivapriya has grabbed her first-ever golden star. In the improvisation round, the singer impressed the viewers with her energetic performance.
In the episode, Shivapriya has picked the popular Malayalam song 'Kusumavadana' from the movie 'Madhuchandralekha.' The singer has tried two voices in the song, which has impressed the judges as well as the audience. Adding fun to the performance, co-contestant Arjun was seen singing the male portion with her. Undoubtedly, from the opera part to the octave, she has nailed the rendition.
"You sang really well. Singing the voices of two people, wonderful. The way you made the switches and contract was too beautiful. I loved the opera portion too. It was a well-deserved 100," KS Chithra said, presenting 100 marks for the contestant.
Praising Shivapriya for her rendition, judge and singer Sithara Krishnakumar said that the former has got all that a playback singer needs.
"You were literally acting with your voice,' she added.
Shivapriya is one of the much-loved contestants in the top 10. In the previous Do or Die round, she grabbed 100 marks for her soulful rendition of 'Ghoomar' along with Krishnasree.
Star Singer continues to win hearts with the interesting rounds and the mesmerizing performances of the contestants. The title winner of the show will take home Rs 50 lakhs.
