Sreejith will play the elder son of Meera’s character Sumithra in the family-oriented soap that will be a realistic take on homemakers, according the actor. “Sumithra is a lovely mother who sacrifices everything for the happiness and health of her family that includes husband, three children and in-laws. It is not a tear-jerker as she portrays those mothers who satisfy our needs and takes care of us and yet a lot of us forget to care about them,” says the actor.

On choosing the role, the Swathi Nakshathram Chothi actor, who made his Bollywood debut through the film Amar Colony, says, “We live a busy life and many of us forget to appreciate or spend time with our mothers. So, when I heard the subject of Kudumbavilakku, I felt it would be an eye-opener. If this serial changes somebody and helps them make an effort to find time for their parents, it would be good.”

Further on his character in Kudumbavilakku, which is a remake of the Bengali serial Sreemoyee, Sreejith says, “I play Anirudh, a medical student who will soon become a doctor in the coming episodes.”

Apart from Meera and Sreejith, Dr Ram fame K K Menon will also be seen in an important role in the show. “It was my first time sharing screen space with Meera. She has positive vibes and though we have only completed a few episodes, we are now more like a big joint family.”
