Actor Kailas Nath, who was much-loved for his character Pillai Chettan in 'Santhwanam' has passed away. The 65-year-old, who was undergoing treatments for non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis for a couple of years, breathed his last at a private hospital in Kochi on Thursday (August 3).

Vanambadi fame Seema G Nair is the one who has shared the sad news with the fans.

'Adieu Kailasetta, Popular actor Kailas Nath passed away. Condolences,' she wrote on her social media handle.

It was in 2021 that Kailas Nath suffered a minor heart attack on the sets of the popular show 'Santhwanam'. Later, he was diagnosed with non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis and was advised to do a liver transplant.

To seek out financial aid to meet the medical expenses Malayalam TV actors started a Rs. 100 donation challenge to help the family. From Sajan Surya to Gopika Anil, TV actors were seen requesting their fans to contribute to the cause.



The actor, who was seen playing meaty roles in both movies as well as serials, became a household name with his character Pillai Chettan in 'Santhwanam'.
