Popular music reality show 'Star Singer' is back with season 8

Popular reality show of Malayalam TV 'Star Singer' is expected to have its 8th season soon. The channel released an audition call on its social media handle recently. Nonetheless to say, fans are much excited to welcome the new season of their favourite show. Further details about the shoot and telecast of the show are yet to be announced.
Star Singer show was launched in 2006 with singer Rimi Tomy as the anchor.The first season has singers K S Chithra, Arundathi and music director M. Jayachandran as judges. But the show gained popularity with the entry of all-time favourite anchor Ranjini Haridas as its host in the second season.
The show has also contributed many talents to the film industry. Starting from the second season winner Najim Arshad, most of the contestants have carved their niche in the world of music.
The last season of the show was telecast in 2014, which saw the comeback of singer-turned anchor Rimi Tomy as the host. The title of the season was bagged by Malavika Anilkumar.
Interestingly, soon after the announcement of the new season, expectations are high over Ranjini Haridas' re-entry into the show. The anchor shot to fame after her Bigg Boss Malayalam stint.
