Poojitha Menon and BFFs shake legs on Salman Khan's 'Ye Raat Aur Ye Doori' song; watch

Actress Poojitha Menon recently made her TV debut in the serial 'Ente Kuttikalude Achan' as an antagonist. Within a short while, the actress managed to gain attention with her realistic acting. Recently, in a candid chat with Kochi Times, Poojitha spoke about her life after entering 'to Ente Kuttikalude Achan'.

“I have received several opportunities to do TV serials, but never took it up because I wanted to do films. When this chance came up, I was interested because of the team, and also because it gave me the scope to perform,” she says.

In the show, Poojitha plays the role, Sangeetha Raj, a woman who had put aside a college romance to focus on her career and is now interested in her old boyfriend, though he is married with children.

“My family was a bit nervous about me doing the role, but I told them that they have to know Sangeetha is only a screen character. This role has given me the possibility to perform a range of emotions — jealousy, anger, love —which I didn’t even really get in movies, and I couldn’t have asked for a better launch on TV,” Poojitha shares.

The actress also added that the intense scenes also affected her emotionally and she would stay up at night thinking about the relationship drama.

Poojitha found that, unlike in cinema, viewers do get more involved in TV stories and can hate on negative characters. She did spot comments like ‘Sangeetha deserves a slap’, but co-actor Kiran Nambiar, who plays the object of her affection and also shows negative shades, told her to just ignore these.

“I’m trying to see the good side and am thinking, ‘Well, it means I’m doing a good acting job if people are getting riled up’. But I’m glad the lockdown is on, so that no one can come and slap me,” she says, jokingly.
