Actress Anjali Rao

is much-loved for her performance as Maya in 'Mrs. Hitler'. Even though her character has grey shades, viewers loved her; thanks to her acting skills. However, not many know that the actress had once competed in the Miss South India pageant and also played actor Simbu's sister in a Tamil movie. Miss South India semi-finalist
Anjali started her career as a model and had done advertisements for many prestigious brands, however, later, she explored her acting skills.


"I was a semi-finalist in 2011 Miss South India contestant, but I quit it midway, as I couldn't tolerate the politics there. I have a huge passion for writing, hence I started my career in advertising as a content writer. Then I explored the technical side of it too. However, destiny was taking me into other fields and I ended up being in the Tamil movie industry," she said.

Anjali Rao had played many notable roles in the industry, however, she says that Nithya Menen's 'Malini 22 Palayamkottai' has changed her life.

"After acting with Nithya Menen in the movie, I realized that I should also become an actress. What a natural artist she is! The way she emotes is exceptional. I started observing her religiously and decided that I should also become an actress like her," Anjali added.


Further, she played meaty roles in movies like 'Vanmam', 'Sometimes', and more. The actress shared that people still call her 'Simbu Thankachai' (Simbu's sister) after playing actor Silambarasan's sister in the Gowtham Menon directorial '

'Even if I am on the screen for 5 minutes, it should have some impact'
"After a gap, I didn't get many worthy characters in movies. I got many second lead roles, which are usually glamorous ones. I didn't want to take up those roles. Even when I am on the screen for 5 minutes, it should have some impact," she shared.

Later, she has done popular roles in both Tamil and Telugu TV. '

'I don't want to be a teary-eyed person on-screen'
Talking about playing negative roles in both her Malayalam shows, Anjali shared that she loves to do it.

"I am already an emotional person in real life. So, I don't want to be a teary-eyed person on-screen also. I am bored of crying. Playing a negative character actually boosts your confidence. You get to play different shades in the role. I am happy that people started loving me as Maya in Mrs. Hitler," she said.

'I hate to doll up on screen'
Even though the actress is widely adored for her attractive sarees and jewellery on-screen, Anjali is not a big fan of overdoing it.

Raakkuyil actress Apsara hopes that 2022 will be a year full of positivity for everyone. She said I hope it fixes all the 'uncertainties in everyone's personal and professional life'.

"I strongly believe that if there is a dip there will be a rise for sure. After years of 'dip', this year will be a rise for everyone. I hope this will be my year. May all have a great year ahead, even if it gives you a hard time, may you have the strength to fight back," the actor wished.

Just like everyone, Chembarathi actor Stebin is also hopeful that 2022 will be a year free from COVID-19, masks, and sanitizers. The actor also wishes to go on an all-India road trip in the new year.

"My resolution for the year is to achieve a healthy lifestyle. I have taken baby steps for it already, my plan is to stick on to it," he added.

"I am a lazy goose, my new year resolution is to make it better and stay energetic," the actor chucked.

"Like every year, not many expectations but hope everything gets better for everyone, like how it was before Corona. I have never taken new year's resolutions to date but this year I decided to do it for the betterment of myself and my baby. The resolution I have is on my food habits. I am basically not a foodie but sometimes I eat a lot and I am uncontrollable due to stress and most of the time I eat outside due to outdoor shoots which in turn started affecting my physical health. So, as my next schedule for Mrs Hitler starts in the new year 2022, I decided to prepare my own food, a healthy diet. I think is food is definitely a need for life and eating right and healthy food is more important too. My baby is growing and I want him to grow eating healthy and that should start from me as kids follow what elders at home do," Mrs Hitler actress Anjali Rao shared.

Star Magic fame Anumol is also hopeful that the new year will bring happiness to everyone.

"I don't usually make new year resolutions as I will fail to achieve them. Still, I have small plans for 2022. As I have started my own video streaming channel recently, I would like to do more entertaining content for people. And if I at all, I am able to earn something for this, I would like to help the needy with it. I dream to be a part of a movie this year and will surely work for it. I wish to achieve my biggest wish of owning a car this year. I will also be taking care of my fitness in 2022," she said.

"I hate to be dolled up on screen. I use to have arguments with my team on the same. I believe in logic and you can't fool the audience. The makers believe that viewers like it this way maybe it's the influence of the north style of serial making. I make sure my character doesn't do so much makeup and jewelry unless it's a special occasion. I want people to see my acting, not to get carried away by my saree or jewelry," she stated.
