Mammootty was a mimicry artist: Siddique
Director Siddique, who has taken on the new role as a television host, says people have tried dissuading him several times from venturing into television, that too with a comedy show.
"Yes, people have discouraging me from taking up the show," said Siddque at the launch of his show, Cinemaa Chirimaa. "But I decided to do it as I cannot forget the fact that mimicry opened the doors to cinema for me.
Even today I take pride in being a mimicry personality. Just not me, but my guru Faazil, and Nedumudi Venu, Cochin Hanifa, Jayaram, National and State award winners Salim Kumar and Suraaj Venjaramoodu were also part of the mimicry family before entering movies. What's more, even Mammootty is in the list of mimicry artists," he added.
