Malayali audience loves typical heroines: Mridula Vijai

Popular television actress Mridula Vijai is one of the youngest actresses in

industry. But in a short span of time, she has become one of the most loved heroines. Currently, Mridula is in the limelight for her role in

serial, where she plays the role of Rohini.
While Television is considered a shortcut for cinema, it is reverse for Mridula. It is only after becoming a popular actress in the

Tamil

film industry that she got her first big break in serials.

"Just like any actress, my passion was to be in movies. I started my career with short films then got good offers for doing Tamil movies. Afterwards I got a chance to act in TV show

When asked about the difference in movies and serials, the young actress mentions that serials are a better platform to express one's talent. " Serials are a very large canvas. Everything is XL compared to cinema. Schedules are tiring," Mridula added
Mridula is against portraying the 'ideal woman' on screen but does so for entertaining the audience.
"Serials don't have a proper story line but a thread which binds the plot. The story is usually changed from time to time analyzing preferences of the audience. Malayali audience always loves to see their heroine as a 'Paavam' girl. The one who drapes sarees, wears traditional ornaments, is always weeping and the one who goes through difficult phases in life. " Mridula said.

Even if Mridula is one of the youngest actresses in the industry ,she has got a handful of good characters to play on screen. Mridula and

Sajan Surya

's pair is a much liked combination in the industry now.

"I am blessed to share screen space with many senior actors. The people who inspired me to be an actress are my co-stars now. Sajan Chettan is like my textbook. I admire his acting and closely observe him. He gives me suggestions and that helps me improve," Mridula stated.
