From washing clothes to creating her own mask, three-and-half-year-old

has been having fun during lockdown with her mother and

For the actress, who is currently home in Palarivattom in Kochi, the lockdown has come as a gift. “I had resumed acting after my baby (whom she fondly calls Kanmani) had turned six months old. I was also engaged with my beauty parlour at my house. So, the lockdown has ensured that I stay away from my professional commitments and spend more time with Kanmani,” she says.

’s brother Rinku, is also using her time to dust off her creative skills like drawing and sketching along with Kanmani. “I had studied home science, which had the basics of oil painting. But it felt great knowing that I can still draw. I work on pencil sketching and Kiara does the same. Though she’s a toddler, she grasps things quickly and even painted the handmade flowers using oil paint,” says Muktha, adding that she is also cooking some naadan recipes from her wishlist.

The duo has also taken a liking towards Tik Tok videos. “After marriage, I haven’t danced. But recently, when I saw a video of dancer Biju Dhwani Tarang, I wanted to dance again. I found that we can be productive if we have a strong urge for it; our talents won’t fade no matter how many years pass by. Most of us are working and have busy schedules, and that’s why we must use the time we have now to analyse our own skills that pump our heart with joy.”

Muktha also says that once the lockdown is over, she doesn’t want to go back to her earlier hectic life, and wants to spend more time with her daughter. “We never used to teach Kanmani much because she was taught lessons at her school. But now I realise with her growing up, we have to allot more time to teach her both academic and life lessons. To prevent kids from getting lazy, her school has shared some activity-based assignments such as making crafts and how to wash, clean and cook. I was surprised when she made a curd sandwich, washed a few clothes and made her own mask after I explained her just once how to do it. I am also learning new things during this lockdown with her.”
