Exclusive - "I desperately need a break before a new one," says actress Kavitha Nair

holds a huge fan following for her acting prowess. From winning laurels for her character Kavyalakshmi to winning the prestigious Kerala State TV award for Best Actress, Kavitha has left no stone unturned.

Now, after a brief gap, the actress is back to TV with a distinct character,

'. In a candid chat with ETimes-TV, Kavitha spoke about her new character, frequent breaks from the industry and her mentor-director

Kavitha Nair, who is often seen taking breaks after every project of hers, shared the little secret behind it.


"I emotionally invest too much in a character. So, once that's over, I am drained. I need time to energise myself for the next one. I deliberately take a break from the industry to spend some time with myself and my family. I think that is inevitable for me," she opened up.

After enjoying some essential me-time, the actress is now back to TV, with a brand new character Radhavarma.

"I badly wanted to play a role with grey shades and this character attracted me. Radhavarma is a politician, a very strong and bold woman. I love playing it and my viewers will be seeing me in a whole new avatar in this show," Kavitha shared.


Kavitha Nair is a must in the serials of ace director KK Rajeev and the actress considers it as a big honour.

"I am proud to be mentored by him. Even though I don't share a friendship kind of bond with him, he just knows me really well. He has seen me fragile and strong. Rajeev sir believes in the actor and gives them all freedom to play their characters. I marvel at the way he conveys emotions with a pause or silence. I haven't seen any marks or boundaries in his frames, he gives a character to the respective actor and it's a huge responsibility, too," she concluded.
