Eminent poet and activist Sugathakumari passed away on Wednesday (December 23) while undergoing treatment for COVID-19. The 86-year-old breathed her last at the Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital. From celebrities to common man, condolences are pouring for the departed soul.

Gayathri Arun has written an emotional note on her social media account. In the video, Sugathakumari is seen giving a sweet kiss on Gayathri's hand as Vishu Kaineettam. "No other Kaineettam is valuable than Amma's kiss," Gayathri wrote.
Referring the poet as 'Teacheramma', Chakkappazham actress Aswathy Sreekanth has shared a post online.
"Heartfelt condolences to poet Sugathakumari Amma," actor Sooraj Sun wrote.
Sharing a picture of the poet, Seethakalyanam actor Anoop Krishnan also paid tribute to the departed soul.
