Cinemala to Star Singer: Here are a few shows Malayalam TV celebs wish to watch again during lockdown

Amid nationwide lockdown, Malayalam TV is rerunning its iconic shows like 'Kailasanathan', 'Avicharitham'. We spoke to some TV celebs to know which shows they would like to watch on television during this 'rerun season'.

Would like to enjoy 'Jungle Book' as a grown-up man: Richard NJ

"I always loved the Malayalam version of 'Jungle Book', which had an interesting title song and the lovable character of Mowgli. As a kid, I always wanted to be like Mowgli, who didn’t have to go to school! I used to dream about Bhagreera and Baloo too. Now, as a grown-up man, I would like to see how much I enjoy these characters while watching the show," said the Sumangali Bhava actor.

Wish to watch 'Cinemala' again: Swasika

Would love to watch 'Star Singer' again: Parvathy R Krishna

"Star Singer was one of my favourite evergreen Malayalam shows. It is close to my heart because my husband Balagopal was also one of the contestants in 2008. I was only 14-years-old then and I was a fan of Balu chettan’s performances. Luckily, we got married later. So, I wish to watch the edition again, relishing my love for his performance," said Parvathy Krishna

I was the huge fan of the old version of 'Sancharam': Anoop Krishnan

"The travel show Sancharam was aired as a weekly series in 2001. Host Santhosh George Kulangara’s presentation was an interesting factor that hooked me on to the show when I was a kid. I used to mimic some of the narrations. I guess I would love to watch the old version of the show again on TV," the Seetha Kalyanam actor told.

It will be interesting to watch my serial 'Charulatha' now: Beena Antony

"Many of my serials used to be aired when television was not this prominent. So, it will be great to watch those shows again. My first option will be serial 'Charulatha' and the reality show 'Tharolsavam'," Beena suggested.

Would like to watch Sthree, I feel the show is still relevant: Sadhika Venugopal

"The Vinaya Prasad starrer serial 'Sthree' aired in late 1998 to mid-2000 was a popular women-centric serial that portrayed how strong and bold women can be. I would like to watch it again. The serial is still relevant. The women in it weren’t teary-eyed, feeble personalities. Rather, they were admirably strong and independent enough to stand up for themselves," Sadhika said.
