Bigg Boss Malayalam 7: Anumol breaks down over height shaming, opens up about facing rejections in the industry
Glamour, grit, and global flair—Gizele Thakral brings it all to the Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 house. A familiar face in the fashion and entertainment world, Gizele made waves as a wild-card entrant on Bigg Boss Hindi Season 9, and now she's back to stir up the drama in the Malayalam edition. With Kerala roots and a career that’s spanned continents, her entry has certainly turned heads—and raised eyebrows.
The first question on everyone's mind: What’s a Hindi-speaking model doing on a Malayalam reality show? Turns out, Gizele has strong ties to the state—her mother is a Malayali from Alappuzha. So, while her public persona may be more Bollywood than Mollywood, her roots run straight to Kerala.
Gizele began her modelling career at just 14 and quickly shot to fame. She was crowned Miss Rajasthan, and while still in Class 11, she made it to the Top 5 of the popular model hunt. Along the way, she also picked up titles like Miss Best Body and Miss Potential. From there, it was a smooth runway to success, gracing the covers of magazines, walking in high-profile fashion shows, and representing both Indian and international brands.
This isn’t Gizele’s first brush with reality television. In 2012, she competed on Survivor India, though an injury forced an early exit. She followed that up in 2013 with an appearance on the cooking-based show Welcome – Baazi Mehmaan Nawazi Ki. In 2015, she entered the Bigg Boss 9 house (Hindi version) as a wild-card contestant, adding spice to the season before being evicted after a brief stint.
Gizele made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with the adult comedy Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, where she played the role of Meri Lee. That same year, she took on the character of Titli Boobna in Mastizaade. In 2019, she appeared in The Great Indian Casino, continuing her journey in cinema with bold and glamorous roles that have become her signature on-screen persona.
Recently, Gizele stepped into the world of business by launching her own fashion and tech venture in Dubai. With a strong social media presence and over a million followers, she blends glamour with business acumen, making her not just a celebrity but a brand in her own right.
"Some of us are not small like you, we have height and weight," Gizele said, prompting an emotional response from Anumol. Though Anumol initially snapped back, she was later seen retreating to the washroom, breaking down in tears over the incident.
In a heartfelt conversation with fellow contestant Shaitya, Anumol revealed how height discrimination had been a painful part of her journey. “When I came into the industry, I faced many rejections because of my height. Whenever I asked why, they would simply say, ‘You don’t have height.’ I used to go from shop to shop just to find heels to wear,” she said, choking back tears.
Shaitya offered comfort and encouragement, telling Anumol that she had already proved her worth by reaching this stage in life and being on such a prominent platform. “The same people who rejected or mocked you are now watching you on Bigg Boss,” she reminded her.
