Bigg Boss Malayalam 5 is all set to declare the winner of the season tonight (July 2). The stage is set and the viewers are excited to know who among the top five contestants will lift the trophy. Here is a look at the contenders who made it to this season's finale.
Actor Shiju made a smashing entry to the show with the dream to make his presence felt among the viewers. Undoubtedly, he has managed to achieve his goal to a great extent. His exceptional performances in the physical tasks gained him much appreciation. Shiju managed to break the gender stereotypes through his culinary skills and maintaining the house like a complete family man. He was also lauded for his bond with inmate Akhil Marar and their friendship was celebrated well too. However, he received criticism for the same bond. Shiju, gained flakes for supporting Akhil during his wrong deeds too.
Contestant Junaiz VP is the next finalist in the show. Fans' Junukka is surely one of the strong contestants in the lot who stands strong with his progressive outlook. Though he was stated to be a weak contestant, the BB Hotel task was a game-changer for him. His strong opposition to Akhil gained him mixed responses. His friendship with Sagar was one of the much-celebrated ones in the house. However, Junaiz gained much criticism for his lack of sportsman spirit in the tasks. He was also accused of blindly opposing Akhil and not being ready to accept his own flaws.
The iron lady, as the fans call her, Sobha is one of the good gamers in the show. She stood strong in the house without forming any groups and she is proud of herself because of it. Opening up about the hardships she had faced in life, Sobha managed to prove herself as a fighter. She also impressed fans with the way she stood against the misogynistic thoughts of inmate Akhil Marar. However, she gained criticism for her stubborn nature and lack of true sportsman spirit.
Actress Reneesha was one of the strongest contenders in the show. From getting appreciation from director Fasil, she kickstarted the game on a high note. However, she went weak as the game progressed and fans credit her friendship with Anjuz and Cerena as the reason for it. Though her bond with Cerena caused many setbacks, fans love Reneesha for valuing friendships in her life. On the other hand, she also gains laurels for raising her voice whenever needed. But, her way of insisting others get a sorry was much trolled too.
Akhil is hailed to be the potential winner of the season. Undoubtedly, he was a complete entertainment package. Be it his humorous avatars, funny interactions with Sobha, or brilliant gaming, he was the center of attraction many times. However, his anger issues and alleged misogynist ideologies drew stiff criticism too. Host Mohanlal also criticized his overconfidence in the game once. But, his love for fellow inmates was much appreciated too.
