In a touching revelation, singer Amritha Suresh recently shared a heartwarming story about renowned actor Suresh Gopi sponsoring her outfits during her stint on the popular music reality show, Star Singer.
Amritha, who joined a fan meet of Suresh Gopi, reminisced about a particular performance where she received praise for her singing but faced criticism for her costumes due to financial constraints. Impressed by her talent, Suresh Gopi personally contacted Amritha after watching her Star Singer performance. He assured her that the lack of costumes should never hinder her marks in the show.
"It was during my performance of the evergreen song 'Mouname'. I got good marks for my singing, but my mark was reduced because of my costumes. During the competition, there will be more than 5 performances in a month and we can't afford to have good costumes always. That is when Suresh Uncle contacted me and became my sponsor. It didn't feel like financial support at all, he did it as if we were a part of his family," she said.
During the chat, Suresh Gopi recollected taking Amritha and her family to a textile store to get her everything needed. Amritha expressed her gratitude, highlighting that Suresh Gopi became an integral part of her family from then on.
The singer also fondly recalled a touching gesture from Radhika, Suresh Gopi's wife. Before a performance on Star Singer, Radhika presented Amritha with her own chain.
Suresh Gopi, reflecting on the incident, mentioned that he personally reached out to music director and former Star Singer judge Sharath and obtained Amritha's contact number to extend his support.
