In the wake of the rapid spread of COVID-19 cases in Kerala, the state government has stalled TV shootings on April 29. Ever since then, TV channels are planning to cope up with the crisis.
However, the leading General Entertainment Channels (GECs) revealed to us that they have a bank of episodes to run for a maximum of two weeks. Most of the fiction and non-fiction shows have enough episodes to entertain the audience for a couple of weeks more. However, if the restrictions prevail, channels will be forced to air reruns.
The telecast of the popular serial 'Ente Mathavu' was temporarily stalled due to insufficient fresh episodes. In its slot, popular Malayalam-dubbed show '
Nandini
' will be telecast. As per the latest reports, music reality shows, '
Star Singer
' and 'Super 4' have a content bank. Whereas, celebrity game show '
Rock n Roll
' is expected to air their best segments in the upcoming episodes. '
Star Magic
' also has episodes to run for one more week. The reality show, 'Suryajodi' which was shelved due to last year's lockdown is currently having a re-telecast now.
The launch of two upcoming shows got postponed due to the shooting restrictions. The game show hosted by actor-politician
Suresh Gopi, 'Anchinodu Inchodinju' and a celebrity show featuring TV actors, which was planned to be launched in the last week of May will be delayed.
