Bangeluru-based Archana Jayakrishnan can’t believe her luck. The model with Malayali roots was happy doing TV ads for saris and jewellery; the thought of doing a film never crossed her mind, until director Jayaraj Vijay invited her to act in his film Viswasam Athalle Ellam. “I was into modelling full time and wasn’t planning to do films at all. But luckily things fell in place and I am debuting in a Malayalam film,” says Archana, who plays a rich, modern girl in it.
“The film is a triangular love story, and Shine Tom Chacko plays the lead. I play his former classmate, who he is in love with. My character is bold and outspoken who is always helping out Shine’s character. He is someone who blames his dad for not being rich and is on the lookout for easy money,” she says. Ansiba Hassan plays the third important character in the film.
Although Archana is not new to the camera, acting in a film is another ball game altogether, she admits. “It was much harder than I imagined, and I am not dubbing for myself either, as my Malayalam is not that strong. But I am enjoying the shoot thoroughly, and hoping to do more films in Malayalam. I’m waiting for the film to release before taking up more offers,” she signs off.
