Yamuna Shrinidhi pledges to donate her eyes; says, "this is just a gesture to celebrate humanity"

has pledged to donate her eyes. On Wednesday morning (August 25), Yamuna visited a popular ophthalmology hospital in Bengaluru and pledged to donate her eyes.

Speaking about the same with ETimes TV, Yamuna said, "This is just a gesture to celebrate humanity. Since I have always been donating blood frequently, pledging to donate my eyes is something that was running in my mind for quite a few years now. And now I have finally taken a step ahead in actually pledging it. The thought that was running in my mind for years is now fulfilled practically. I have finally signed to pledge my eyes. I would also like to thank Dr.Sujatha Rathod for helping me in the procedure."

Speaking about it, the Kanyakumari actress mentioned that it is bliss that another human being will be able to get their eyesight in the future with this one decision to pledge eyes.

"There are many people who are actually struggling with eyesight issues. This one signature of pledging my eyes will actually be very helpful to those who are in urgent need. The thought of another person being able to get their eyesight with my

eye donation

in the future is giving me so much satisfaction. I felt it is life-worthy," shared Yamuna.

Yamuna remembers late actor Sanchari Vijay whose organs were donated to the needy post his death.

"In that way, I feel we need to remember late actor Sanchari Vijay as a motivation. Even after his death, the actor is being remembered for his good deeds. I really appreciate his family members for taking the decision of donating his body organs to the needy. I mean not just his eyes but the different body organs," said the actress.

Yamuna further sums up saying, "I request with concern that everyone should consider pledging their eyes. There is no price to pay for donating your eye, but it makes you a priceless human being to another person. We need to encourage others to pledge to donate their eyes."
