Ator Rekha Prasad, popularly known as Sparsha Rekha, is making her small screen debut with a fantasy drama, Tripura Sundari. The actor says of her big debut, “I have always been a fan of fictional stories. When the makers approached me, I realised that the serial has a unique storyline; it is not at all like traditional soap operas. Serials take us closer to the audience and I am eagerly waiting to see how the audience will receive me.”

Speaking about moving from silver screen to small screen, Rekha says she is amazed by the quality of serials. “I do not see much of a difference between cinema and serials. The major difference is work hours. It is a lot more tedious hours for TV. In fact, I am very surprised by the quality that serials today are pulling off! Most of them are as good as films,” she says.

Rekha, who will be essaying a small role in Shivarajkumar’s Veda, spoke about how amazed she is by the Century Star’s energy. “He is the crowd’s favourite for a reason. His energy is contagious and if truth be told, he is ageing in reverse! I have worked in three films with him - Yaare Nee Abhimani, Srikanta and now Veda. He is a pleasure to work with. In Veda, I play the judge; it’s a small cameo role. We shot for 4 days and it was a lot of fun working with the team.”
The actress, who was recently seen in a few other films like Popcorn, Monkey, Tiger and Badava Rascal, has several films lined up in her kitty. “I am taking up interesting characters that are coming my way. There’s a lot in the pipeline. I am excited about this new journey and looking forward to it,” she signs off.
