Popular Kannada serial Premaloka, which has
Vijay Surya and Anikitha Navya Gowda in lead roles, will be ending its journey on television. Vijay Suriya, along with a video which gives glimpses into his journey in the serial, posted, "It all ends here ..! I’d like to thank everyone who stood by us and supported us through this journey, it wouldn’t have been possible without you guys Love you guys(sic).”
Premaloka, which is the remake of the Hindi serial Kasauti Zindagi Kay, evoked good response from viewers, but failed to captivate viewers in its recent episodes.
According to sources from the channel, low TRP ratings is the reason that the serial has ended. The show, which was stopped due to lack of fresh episodes as shoots were halted due to the lockdown, was back on air from June 29.
Unfortunately, two veteran actors who acted in the serial, succumbed to COVID-19. Hulivana Gangadharaiah passed away in July and his role was taken up by Siddharaj Kalayankar, who also died of a massive heart attack. The entire serial team which had celebrated the birthday of Siddharaj Kalyankar, mourned the death of the actor.
A new serial is likely to go on air in place of the romantic soap opera Premaloka. The channel is yet to confirm the name of the show which will go on air.
