New serial Rukku highlights sibling bonding

After the massive success of Yediyuru Shri Siddhalingeshwara, a general entertainment channel is airing a new soap opera, Rukku, from Monday.

, Rukku - played by Shobha Shetty - fills up the void created by the demise of her father by taking care of her mother and siblings. Rukku is a confident, independent woman who believes in simple living. She shares a special bond with her sister

who happens to be a well read and kind-hearted person. Rukku and Radhika’s relationship faces various hardships which puts them in a dilemma which adds a major twist to the plot.

Another strong character is Bangaramma, who is an influential lady who brings in potential change to the story line. Bangaramma also happens to be the mother of Murali, the lead protagonist of the show, with whom Rukku’s sister Radhika will be in love. The serial is directed and produced by

Lead actor Shobha Shetty started her acting career with the

Kannada

serial Agnisakhi. Later, she quit the show midway owing to movie projects. The actress made her silver screen debut in the year 2017 with the Kannada film Anjani Putra, which had Puneeth Rajkumar and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
