It's National Pet Day today (April 11) and Kannada actress Anikha Sindhya just can't hold her excitement on celebrating the day with her pet doggo, 'Happy'. The actress is a pet parent to a three-year-old Shih-Tzu and enjoys spending time with it whenever she is at home.
Speaking about the same with ETimes TV, Anikha shared, "It's nearly been three years since we bought 'Happy' home now. We brought him just before the nationwide lockdown was imposed. Since then, our life has been revolving around him."
She added, "Not just me, my brother and our parents also love Happy equally. We all love spending time with Happy. He just takes away all the attention from everyone. Our schedules actually depend upon Happy's routine. We do not let him stay alone at our house. We make sure that any one of us is there with him at home."
Having said that, Anikha continued, "Happy travels with us to our native as well. Even there, our relatives enjoy playing with Happy. He has been a companion to everyone in our family. Very much like the youngest kid, who is spoilt with many choices. Our pet doggo has indeed turned out to be the 'Happy' of our lives."
Anikha about her bond with her paw-sibling"Happy came into my life at the right time. He is my second and youngest brother to me now. More like a happy pill to me. No matter how hectic my schedule is, the moment I enter home, I forget everything when Happy greets me with loads of love. The sight of my pet baby wagging his tail and running to me is a blissful feeling. He understands everything and reciprocates in his own way," mentioned the actress.
Anikha added, "Spending time with Happy is my favorite. I enjoy nurturing him and looking after him. Sometimes at home, I and my brother fight a lot only to decide who will get to spend more time with 'Happy'. Both of us want to spend time with Happy individually. It's more like a competition. We rush to carry our pet and pamper it."
The actress further talks about the unconditional love the pets share with their owners. "It's a ure bliss to have a pet at home. They love us unconditionally without any expectations. They have been some people’s only companies these days as well as human’s best friends for thousands of years. You know, even if you have been busy that you haven’t had enough time to give your pet the attention it deserves, it's still madly waiting for you to come home and welcome you warmly. When you’re feeling down and thinking no one loves you, you always have a canine partner to make you feel better and happier," averred Anika.
She summed up by adding, "It might be fancy to say we are pet parents. But at the same time, we have to follow our duties as a paw-parent. We, as humans need to look after our pets and love them unconditionally," signed out the actress.
