Marali Manasagide to premiere in August

Actor Chandan Kumar's new serial,

Marali Manasagide

, which sees him playing the role of a cop, will go on air from August. The date and timings are yet to be revealed by the Kannada general entertainment channel. Actors Divya Wagukar and Shilpa Shetty will be seen as female leads.

Marali Manasagide is the remake of the Hindi serial Ghum Hai Kisikey Pyaar Meiin. Actor Chandan is portraying the role of a cop called

Vikrant S Nayak

for the first time in his career. In an interview with us he had said, “This is my first show that I have signed since I got married earlier this year, so I am quite excited about it. I play an upright police officer who aspires to punish people who harm society. There is a love story too, which adds an interesting twist to the tale.”

To get into the skin of the character, Chandan Kumar reduced five kilos of weight by running 100kms on a treadmill in seven days. The actor, is also seen on the cookery reality show
