Magalu Janaki to go off air
One of the most popular serials on Kannada television, Magalu Janaki will be going off air. The serial, directed by T N Seetharam, saw Ganavi Laxman making her small screen debut. The serial also saw Rakesh Maiya, Kitty and Sudha Belalwadi in pivotal roles.Director T N Seetharam, on his Facebook page, posted that since the channel that was airing Magalu Janaki has been shut till October; the old episodes of the serial will be aired from June 1. The director has also thanked everyone for their support. A fans group started a social media campaign urging the show to be shifted, but Seetharam ruled out the possibility of airing the show on another channel. According to sources, though the general entertainment channel went off air, the team was confident that the show would be shifted to another channel, but later it was decided to end the show. The theme of the serial was an emotional bond between an innocent girl Janaki, played by Ganavi, and her father played by Seetharam who is an advocate. Janaki, after facing lots of adversities in life, meets her estranged father, after a gap of 20 years.The serial, which premiered in July 2018, aired for over one and half year. The serial also marked the comeback of T N Seetharam to small screen. He has directed popular serials like Muktha Muktha, Maya Mruga, Muktha, Mahaparva and others.
