Laxmi Baramma's Gombe is dead; her lookalike Shravya steps in

Kannada daily soaps are never short of exciting twists and turns. Popular serial Laxmi Baramma has recently introduced fresh drama into the plot that has left the fans of the serial reeling. In the past month, everyone’s favourite character Gombe had disappeared and now she is believed to be dead. And while viewers are still digesting that bit of information, Gombe’s lookalike Shravya has stepped into the scene, thus adding further intrigue to the story. Meanwhile, Neha Ramakrishna who plays both the roles is thrilled to the hilt. “Gombe and Shravya are two entirely contrasting characters. While Gombe was soft spoken, Shravya is not. Gombe was classy and simple, but Shravya is loud and loves bling. Although she looks like Gombe, she is nothing like her. So this called for a makeover and I was more than happy to undergo this change for my role. Not everybody gets such an opportunity because usually, you get to play the same role with the same look for years together. I’m glad I got to sport two different looks already,” avers Neha, who is elated with all the love that the audience is showering on Gombe, more so now as she is no more.
